Valley Sounds from the Oshkosh Weekend
January 18, 2007
"Won't You Love Me Like That," by Copper Box:
Why it's cool? How would you even classify this band? Rock? Zydeco? Polka? We have no idea. All we know is that this Oshkosh band makes really good music.
How to get it? This song is on the band's new album, "Backyard Party," which for now you can buy at Copper Box shows. Look for it wider distribution in the near future.

Little Big Town with opening band Copper Box
January 01, 2007
Now this has the makings for one of the best shows of the year. Jim O'Connell says that the PAF has been striving to get more current country acts into the Grand, and this engaging and energetic group, recently nominated for several CMA awards, is one of country/pop music's hottest groups to break into the big time. It's a return trip to this part of Wisconsin--Little Big Town performed at the Stevens Point Riverfront Rendezvous in September to one of that festival's largest crowds ever (also featured Copper Box). The quartet has developed a unique sound with intricate harmonies and acoustic strings. All alternate singing lead and are frequently only accompianied by guitar.
And consider this show's opening band an extra treat. Copper Box out of Oshkosh isn't exactly what you'd call country rock, what with an accordion, tuba, sax, guitars and trumpet jammin' out to their delicious renditions of Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd. They call it accordion swamp rock, but you'll just call it wild. 7:30pm, tickets $32-$37. 842-0988
